About Mibo
-
Mibo = Mind + Body.
We believe both work best when they work together. -
Most Mibo-style Sophrology moments take 5–20 minutes.
Some are even shorter – perfect for a midday reset or pre-bed wind-down. -
Nope, not therapy.
Mibo shares helpful ideas and practices from wellness, breath work, and mindfulness – but it's not a replacement for professional mental health support. In fact Sophrology compliments therapy!
About Sophrology
-
Sophrology is a simple, practical way to help your mind and body feel more balanced.
Think of it as a toolkit for life, combining gentle breathing, relaxation, and visualisation techniques to help you feel calmer, more focused, and more confident. It can help you sleep better, manage stress, and feel more in harmony with yourself and your environment.
The more you practise, the more the benefits grow.
-
Let’s firstly clear up – it’s not the study of sofas (haha)! The word “Sophrology” comes from three Greek words:
“Sos” – harmony or well-being
“Phren” – mind
“Logos” – study or science
Put together, Sophrology literally means “the study of achieving harmony of the mind and body.” It’s all about helping you feel balanced, aware, and more connected to yourself.
-
Think: meditation meets movement.
Sophrology is active. You breathe, move, visualise, and feel – so it’s great if you struggle to sit still or “clear your mind.” -
Nope! You just need a body and a brain.
Sophrology is super accessible – no yoga poses, no sweating. You can even do it lying down or sitting on the sofa. -
It’s at the heart of what we do.
Many Mibo tools and tips are inspired by Sophrology – but simplified so anyone can try them. You’ll notice themes like grounding, breathing, body awareness, and calm visualisation. -
It can help you:
Sleep better
Manage stress
Feel more focused
Boost confidence
Overcome fears
Connect with your body
Improve emotional balance
Increase mental clarity
Enhance performance
Support personal growth
It’s small but mighty - and the more you practise, the better it gets.
-
Sophrology was created in the 1960s by a neuropsychiatrist called Alfonso Caycedo in Spain.
It blends Western science (like relaxation therapy and psychology) with Eastern wisdom (like yoga and meditation). It’s widely used in parts of Europe – and Mibo is bringing it to your day, the easy way.
